MAKING QUALITY DECISIONS

Happy New Year brethren. I thank the almighty God for giving us the grace to see 2019. I believe this is the year to hit new heights, spiritually, economically and physically.

Most of us have resolutions in place. Others have prayer requests that they want to accomplish by the year end. To hit these new heights, we have to change some aspects of our lives. We have to get out of the cocoon of doing things the same way and expecting different results.

Today I would like us to see how we can attain dominion in every sphere of our lives by making quality decisions. Tony Robbins said, “It is in your moments of decisions that your destiny is shaped.”

Brethren, the decisions we make every day determine the kind of lives we live. Decisions might be good or bad. Regardless of any of the decisions, impact has to be realized. Good decisions have positive impacts, bad decisions have negative impacts.

We have been given the freedom to choose. Deuteronomy 30:19 says that life and death, blessings and curses have been placed in our hands. We have to choose what we want. This freedom to choose places responsibility in our hands.

If I may ask, “Who are you?”

The answer to this question reflects on the person within.

How can you define who you are?

You are a product of your choices. Your life is shaped by the decisions you make. What you choose to eat, the friends you choose, the content you view online, everything in your life flows in line with the decisions you make.

This therefore means that you don’t have to blame anyone for anything that happens in your life. Some may blame the devil, some may say God has neglected them, but did you think first about the decisions you made before taking action?

Your emotions produce your decisions.

Now, how can we make quality decisions?

First, your decisions have to obey God’s moral will. Every decision has to uphold the standard that God has placed with regard to what is wrong or right. It does not matter the situation you are in. The line between right and wrong has to be visible. This means, every decision you make has to be in harmony with God’s plans and laws.

Second, always apply biblical wisdom. Brethren, good decisions are based on knowledge. Biblical wisdom will only be applied when you have the knowledge of the word of God. The word speaks the mind of God. It sets the path straight for us to follow. Always be full of the word of God.

Third, always stick to the decisions you make. One of the greatest hindrances to attaining dominion is by not being certain of what we want or want to do. If you decide to do something, stick by it until you accomplish the desired outcome. Muhammad Jinnah said, “Think 100 times before you take a decision but once that decision has been taken, stand by it as one man.” Do not be a person who decides this today but does that tomorrow.

Dominion will only be attained when you learn to make quality decisions pleasing to God and more so standing firm by those decisions.
